Every summer, at the beginning of August, we hold a VBS to share with the children of Marinette, Menominee, and Peshtigo the wonderful truths of God's word. It is by no means a boring time! In addition to Bible lessons, the children sing, make crafts, play games, eat snacks, listen to stories, and much more. It winds up with a Friday night assembly at the church, where they get to show everyone what they learned during the week.

 We have puppets, which often share a humorous tale with the children, with a topic that matches the current VBS theme. 

    Another favorite is the penny offering, in which children are encouraged to bring in pennies. The Pennies are put into buckets and weighed against the pennies brought in by the other team. Some years the buckets aren't big enough! The pennies go toward supporting missionaries on the field.

    As you may expect, there is singing. A lot of the songs have actions associated with them. The biggest challenge most children face is trying to keep up when the songs are sung in "Hyper-drive!"

    There are plenty of games and other activities for the children to showcase their skills and abilities. Some require more skill, some require more energy!

   To give children and the helpers the energy boost they need after all the excitement, they are given a snack break.

    There is also the chance for more traditional teaching. We also have craft time and a missionary story, which points the children to others that have found purpose and fulfillment in Christ.
