Voyagers

Every Wednesday night, your child has the opportunity to join in the fun of our Voyagers program at Twin City Baptist Church!

Designed for children ages four to twelve, Voyagers is a place that your child will be taught from God's Word, challenged to serve the Lord, and able to worship in song, study, and prayer.

Children are divided into two teams, the Winds and the Waves, which motivates them to do well at their tasks and encourage others as they strive to earn points for their team.

The first half of our night informally starts at 6:45 p.m. with small games for the "early birds" while the other children trickle in. By 7:00, the program is in full swing with more games, songs, and cheers.

The second half of our program takes on a more serious tone, since it consists of the Bible lesson and verse time. To better meet the children on their level, they are divided into juniors and seniors. The primary goal of the Bible lesson time is to show the children their need to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Additionally, the children are encouraged to learn a special verse corresponding to the lesson they were taught, helping them to remember the lesson and carry God's Word with them through the week.

In the closing minutes of the program, the children are brought together for a final game at both the junior and senior levels, then team points are tallied, and prizes are given out.

To keep things exciting, there is a "Voyager Spectacular Night" once a month, a break from the usual routine. We have had "Crazy Cap Catastrophe Night" with prizes given for crazy caps, and  "Harvest Happenings Night" with Thanksgiving in mind.  Other highlights each week may include "Team Color Night," puppets, or special visitors, just to name a few.

Our church truly cares about the children who come, and we desire to teach them God's word and grow in their spiritual life.
